In addition to our academic year and summer photo workshop programs at Speos, we conduct teaching sessions on the Stop-System method for B&W darkroom printing and the shooting studio. The 20-hour theme-oriented sessions are offered for a week in the summer, or on Saturdays during the year.

The B&W Darkroom:
Initiation to the techniques of B&W printing with the development of film, print enlargements on different types of paper, and retouching. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to judge print quality and produce properly exposed enlargements.

The Studio:
Overview of the Stop-System method applied to the lab and the shooting studio. Initiation to studio lighting techniques with tungsten and electronic flash, and the presentation of view camera movements. Workshop themes are: Still Life, Studio Portait, and the Nude.
